Under The Dogwood Tree

Meet Kari…

Growing up, I had entertained many career paths. Being an author was not one of them. I was a fashionista with a wardrobe obsession, not a wordsmith. But God had other plans. He usually does. An English assignment my sophomore year in college propelled me to switch my major from fashion to journalism. Talk about different ends of the spectrum. That life-altering decision has had me write for newspapers, broadcast news, radio, and blogs. Somewhere along the way, I felt a novel brewing inside of me. With big hopes and even bigger dreams also came enormous disappointments. I had experienced more emotions than I knew existed. Every time I wanted to give up—and the number was too many to remember—I didn’t because I couldn’t see my life any other way than as a writer.
